Fischbein is one of the most respected names in bag closing industry and has been for many decades. The company offers a variety of sewing and sealing technologies, all of them capable of handling industry standard containers. They are also extremely reliable and can withstand the rigors of high flow production lines. When they do require service, though, a certified technician through Philip Rahm, Inc. is the best person for the job. PRI has worked with Fischbein for many years, and their technicians are familiar with how the company’s products work and how to perform maintenance on them.

What is Fischbein’s history as a bag closer business?

They were founded in 1910 and originally sold and serviced industrial sewing equipment. The company’s founder, Dave Fischbein, continued in this venture until 1946, when he introduced an electrically powered, mobile sewing machine to the market. Known as the Model A, this machine was designed specifically to sew packages shut, making it one of the first container sewing machines available. It wasn’t long before Fischbein was known around the world for its products. The company followed up its success in the 1970s with the world’s first sealer for pinch style paper containers. In 1999, they added Saxon sealers into its portfolio of products, giving them some of the best poly container sealers available.

This adaptability has kept Fischbein ahead of the technology curve in the container sewing and sealer industry. With its diverse range of products, capable of handling nearly any bag in existence, Fischbein has a solution for every business.

What kinds of bag closer technology does Fischbein offer?

They offer a complete set of container sewing and sealing solutions, ranging from hand held sewers to floor-mounted band sealers. Their hand held sewers are ideal for processing facilities where mobility is key. Each hand held device is about 10 lbs. in weight, so it can easily handle precise sewing. During operation, these devices produce a single thread closure that can easily seal off paper containers and crepe tape paper containers. They are powerful enough to work with multi-walled paper, laminated and woven poly containers.

Fischbein’s full size sewing systems are built for higher volume production lines and can handle semi-automated or fully automated processes. They are built with a compact footprint, produce little vibration and can be fitted with tagging or trim removing systems. They can produce up to 75 feet of thread per minute, so they are ideal for speeding up container finishing.

Fischbein’s poly container sealers use hot air or Teflon coated bands to shut PE, PP, HDPE, LDPE, PTFE and cellophane containers, among others. Their hot air technology is safer than other methods of sealing and is just as efficient.

When a company needs a container sewer or sealer that can handle the rigors of modern production facilities, Fischbein is the name to remember.
