Why Are Vibrating Conveyors Essential For Processing?

Vibrating conveyors are one of the most durable transport options available to processing plants. They are capable of handling huge amounts of bulk, and are ideal for materials that come with a large amount of granularity. Their unique design also permits them to carry liquids, which is hard to find in such a durable and inexpensive device. For these reasons they are ideal for food processing, gravel, and metal fabrication industries. Most transport setups move items around using belts or pressurized air. These machines use the power of ultra-fast oscillation, which maintains product integrity and flow.

As the workhorse of many processing facilities, vibrating conveyors can do large amounts of work with minimal maintenance. The contact surface is built like a trough, with metal siding preventing the material from spilling over the edge. Most are attached to a motor that drives an oscillating shaft, causing extremely fast, but subtle vibrations that steer the material down the trough at a constant speed. Some models are now designed with electromagnets that use magnetic forces to accomplish this same effect. The trough is connected to heavy duty springs that absorb shock. This prevents the movement of the machine from affecting nearby equipment or causing damage to the device itself.

While it may seem vigorous, vibrating conveyors are gentle on bulk material, exerting the minimal amount of force necessary to move the product. They can handle durable materials like gravel and metal parts, but are also capable for transporting delicate food products like grains. Cereal grains must be kept intact prior to tempering and grinding, or it risks becoming contaminated. These machines can provide that level of precision with minimal product loss. However, to handle food products the contact surface must be built with certified food-safe materials. This is normally stainless steel, which is durable and corrosion resistant too.

Vibrating conveyors are also capable of screening, sorting, orienting or feeding product while in operation. This is ideal for food processing methods where the material must be sorted for size and shape. These machines can provide the sorting needed if they are fitted with screens or graders. Their oscillating movements use the material’s own mass to propel it down the trough, so this will naturally separate product out by size, weight or shape.

When durability, versatility and flexibility are major concerns, vibrating conveyors are among the best choices for transporting goods
. They are amid the hardiest machines in any facility, capable of constant operation with little maintenance. They are corrosion resistant, shock resistant, and fire resistant. Some models are able to withstand explosions. They can operate in a variety of environments, from extremely cold to furnace-like conditions. In fact, these machines are the transport of choice for the metal fabrication industry, because they can move newly cast parts which can be up to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature. They can be built to fit any space, and can be set at inclines up to 45 degrees steep. In short, they can be placed at little expense and left alone to do their job with great efficiency. This makes them one of the most reliable, and therefore, one of the most preferred machines in many industries.
